Customer Review: A close second to Hemingway…
For those looking for modern commentary on the “sporting life” or a journey into the mind of men who have trouble with modern gender issues then this is a good place to start. McGuane seems to be trying to fill Hemingway’s waders (particularly “In Our Time”) with this collection; he certainly conveys a similar tone.

If you have a background in hunting and/or fishing then these stories will likely appeal to you. If not, there is still one story worth reading simply because it aptly demonstrates why we need to abandon the myth of the male who expresses no emotions for fear of showing his weakness.

Unfortunately it appears to be out of print but it is worth tracking down.

One of the biggest worries that most mothers have is baby skin care. Many women long to be mothers, but when the time comes, they are often unsure what to do. This is natural, for even mothers who is going to have their second or third child often fight to remember what they did with their first child.
baby skin care often is a matter of preference. Some moms really want to go the all-natural route, and will look for products that are natural, and have no preservatives or other additives. Even moms who don’t necessarily give it much thought will look for these same products.
When choosing the right baby skin care products, much care should be given on choosing those that are gentle and will not irritate your baby’s new skin. Avoid all perfumes or preservatives that are meant for adults. You should be able to find products for babys on most branded labels . For example, use only detergent meant for babies for your baby’s clothes. Another word of caution is not to use “moth balls” (or clothe refreshener) with baby clothes; it will cause nasty irritation to your baby’s skin. If you are unsure of a product, seek opinions from someone you know who have used it before.
Watch out for red, dry skin patches on your baby. This could be a result of the lotions you use for baby skin care, or can be from the detergent you use. Your detergent should be mild, and made for baby. Always remember to wash your clothes and your baby’s clothes SEPARATELY.
